Avoid Being Critical or Nasty or Negative!

Avoid Being Critical or Nasty or Negative!

One piece of advice found in positive thinking, self-help books is the daily practice of getting in to the habit of not saying a bad thing about any person, and to avoid being critical as you go about your daily life.

On the face of it, this doesn’t seem too difficult to accomplish. However, it is much more difficult than you think, as each day you are exposed to such negativity in this strange world of ours. Unfortunately our opinions and attitudes are formed primarily by what we read in the newspapers and what we watch on television and listen to on the radio.

So the first step is to take care what you read, watch and listen to each day, as there is a great deal of negativity out there, and I could also mention the monster that is ‘social media!’

It will call for great discipline and focus and needless to say will be extremely difficult, but one day at a time, let’s just see if for just one day tomorrow you can go a whole day without saying anything nasty or negative about someone or something.

If in the unlikely event you can and do succeed, let’s see if you can keep it up and go another day without being nasty, judgemental and critical. Who know’s you might even manage a week of positivity, but remember, they say it usually takes around four weeks to establish a pattern or habit, thus breaking old annoying habits!

As someone who has experienced mental health issues, it is my mission to help other people with their own battles in the field of mental health by sharing the knowledge and information that I have found to be beneficial. In the wake of mental health issues, financial challenges are inevitable and given that our antiquated education system makes us ill-equipped to deal with money matters in adult life, it is my hope that through my own experiences I can provide people with good old-fashioned basic economic sense. I also have a passion for history and nostalgia, especially football in the 1970s.
